1. Athletic Events
Rowan University is home to an amazing Division III athletic program that includes a range of both men’s and women’s sports. From indoor to outdoor events, there is something for everyone’s sporting tastes. As spring approaches and the weather improves, make a trip to a women’s lacrosse game or come support the baseball team at one of their home matches. These events are free and offer a great opportunity to spend time with friends and family and cheer on “The Profs.”

2. Art Gallery
The university’s Art Gallery serves as a cultural destination in South Jersey, hosting new exhibits, presentations, and other programs for the community. Everyone is welcome at the gallery for an inclusive experience that blends students, artists, and the public. The Art Gallery offers long-term exhibits from national artists as well as special showings and students’ artwork. Events such as the upcoming “How Food Moves: Edible Logistics” and the currently running”The Sister Chapel An Essential Feminist Collaboration” are both free of charge and serve as amazing ways to connect with the art community in Glassboro.

3. Theatre & Dance
The College of Performing Arts Department of Theatre & Dance puts on a production season full of beloved classics, choreographic masterpieces, and musical gems. Students and professional faculty comprise the award-winning program and produce a variety of unique performances. Rowan’s training is unlike any other; they aim to create not just performers and designers, but artists who can become informed masters of their own careers. You can experience the students’ hard work in person at one of the school’s live shows. Carrie: The Musical is Rowan’s next production, with shows April 6-8 at 8pm, April 11-12 at 7pm, and April 9 at 2pm. General admission is $20 and $15 for seniors, students, alumni, and staff.

Edelman Planetarium at Rowan University offers live stargazing and an immersive 360-degree video on a digital sky. Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of shows and special events designed to educate and entertain, advance viewers’ understanding of the universe, and provide up-to-date astronomical information. You can find a mix of shows for families, space enthusiasts, and science aficionados alike. Spring shows include Cosmic Castaways, The Magic Treehouse: Space Mission, Perfect Little Planet, and Earth, Moon & Sun. Public shows cost $5 for adult, $3 for children, and $2 per person for family shows. The planetarium also hosts speaker series and open-house nights for the public’s enjoyment.

5. Speaker Series
Become inspired and learn something new at Rowan’s speaker series. The College of Science and Mathematics Dean’s Distinguished Speaker Series is open to all and is currently hosting Dr. Greg Dunn on March 31. Artist and neuroscientist Dr. Dunn will speak in a seminar titled: “Self Reflected: Deeply fusing art and science to create the world’s most complex artistic depiction of the human brain.” The speaker series is constantly changing so audience members can experience something new so learn more about the series here.

6. Online Courses at Rowan Global
Rowan Global was developed to take some of Rowan University’s most in-demand graduate and undergraduate degree programs and make them more affordable and accessible to working adults in the southern New Jersey region and beyond. The program serves as the school’s vehicle to serve the adult student population, including college graduates seeking to pursue graduate or doctoral studies, former college students who need to continue their education in order to acquire a baccalaureate degree, or employees/employers seeking professional development. 7. Rowan Boulevard
Travel over to Rowan Boulevard for a quick snack at Yogo Factory, stop into Forever Young Emporium to pick up a gift, or swing by The Boulevard Salon for a new hairdo. The $300 million project is made up of mixed-use buildings comprising housing, commercial, retail, and academic space and serves as a major destination for students and visitors alike. 8. Musical Concerts
The Department of Music at Rowan offers many opportunities to have the perfect night out. Enjoy a variety of musical selections with everything from opera to jazz and string ensembles. The student performers put on amazing shows that run through the spring semester and are open for the public to enjoy. Upcoming events consist of Opera Scenes on April 1 and the Contemporary Music Ensemble on April 12. Tickets are available online and cost $10 for a standard seat.

9. Grab a Bite to Eat
The town of Glassboro offers a wonderful selection of dining options for students, residents, and visitors. Frequented often by students is Prime, a great local spot for fresh burgers, fries, and shakes. PB’s Diner & Taproom is the go-to restaurant for comfort breakfast, lunch, and dinner while Tokyo Mandarin is a favorite for Asian and sushi dishes. Chickie’s & Petes on Rowan Boulevard is a lively sports bar where you can grab their signature crab fries and watch the big game. 10. Rowan University Fossil Park
The Jean and Ric Edelman Fossil Park contains thousands of fossils and provides researchers with insight into the Cretaceous Period—the heyday of the dinosaurs. While scientists conduct research at the park, the site is an educational center for people of all ages—scouting groups, seniors, schoolchildren, college students—interested in experiencing the thrill of hands-on science exploration.
