All Aboard The Classic Towns Trolley Tour
trolley5.jpg

On July 28 representatives from 10 Classic Towns, as well as state officials, community development professionals and Bucks County Commissioner Diane M. Ellis-Marseglia joined DVRPC staff for a Trolley Tour of three Classic Towns. The day began in Bristol Borough with breakfast at the Riverside Theatre and a tour of Bristol’s industrial past and present. Guests then rode a Philadelphia Trolley Works trolley to Merchantville where they enjoyed lunch at the Blue Monkey Tavern/Collins House before embarking on a walking tour of the town’s hidden gems. The day’s last and final stop was Moorestown Township. Here the trolley took guests through Moorestown’s stately neighborhoods and employment hubs. The icing on the cake was an ice cream social at Moorestown’s historic Community House. Tour guides and speakers included local and county officials, as well as representatives of historical organizations. We’re currently planning another Trolley Tour for next spring. Stay tuned.
