Sweet Treats with an Allergy-Free Twist
bakery.jpg

Allergies don’t always have to keep you from enjoying your favorite foods, especially cupcakes and cookies. There are healthy handfuls of bakeries and specialty shops in the Classic Towns that are baking up allergy-free favorites. Here are a few to seek out. Happy eating!

Sweet Kristine’s Gluten-Free Confections in Kennett Square
Sweet Kristine’s Gluten-Free Confections
is a bakery that serves organic, gluten-free, and wheat-free treats. From fresh baked “doughnuts” and cookies to pizza crust, Sweet Kristine’s makes delicious and healthy foods accessible to all. Each item is prepared in-house, with organic ingredients, by a professional kitchen staff, ensuring quality and gluten-free perfection.

Virago Baking Company in Lansdale
Lansdale’s Virago Baking Company specializes in gluten-free, sugar-free, and vegan cakes and pastries. Virago’s pastry professionals can cook up delicious indulgences for any occasion using the finest natural ingredients available (often local and organic). Their philosophy – “everyone should have a cake” – motivates Virago chefs and bakers to create food for everyone, despite their allergies or dietary preferences. Virago and its owner Regina Mason have earned ample praise from local blogs, magazines, and newspapers. Stop by and find out why.

Kati’s Kupcakes in Moorestown, NJ
Kati’s Kupcakes specializes in delicious and intricately designed cupcakes. They can be chocolate, vanilla, anything really. And they can often be vegan, allergen-free, gluten-free, low calorie, low fat, and sugar-free, too. While specializing in cupcakes and cakes for weddings and other special events, Kati continues to give back to her Classic Town community by organizing the “Iron Cupcake” challenge in Moorestown.

Main Line Baking Company in Ardmore
Main Line Baking Company serves Ardmore, Wayne, and other Classic Towns just outside of Philadelphia offering delicious gluten and dairy-free baked goods. Whether you’re following a special diet or not, Main Line Baking Co.’s cakes, cupcakes, muffins, cookies, cakes, brownies, and breads are prefect for special occasions or a simple grab-and-go treat. All bakery products are made fresh daily on-site. They’re available at Main Line Baking’s Wynnewood train station café, in specialty food stores, and online.
