Summer may be coming to a conclusion but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a cool treat in the Classic Towns! Here is a list of eight great dessert shops that you’ll love for a final hooray.

1. Roxborough Custard & Cakes Creamery 

Custard & Cakes Creamery in our newest Classic Town Roxborough has staked its claim as one of the best ice cream spots in the area since 1955. The Ridge Avenue destination has stayed family-owned and operated and continues to serve residents and visitors alike the very best freshly made ice cream, shakes, malts, water ice, and specialty cakes. This old-school favorite is your go-to spot for an authentic experience. Visit before their season ends in November.

2. Chloe’s Corner

Chloe’s Corner is a Manayunk must, full of vintage charm and superior service and remains open during the warmer months in the year. The Main Street stop has a full menu of ice cream and water ice that is sure to please guests of all ages. The brightly colored stand makes for the perfect end to any dinner date or family outing. 

 

3. Cabana Water Ice 

There’s nothing quite like the familiarity and consistency of Cabana Water Ice. The Haddon Heights location lives on iconic Station Avenue and proudly serves this New Jersey community the very best water ice, soft serve, and hand-scooped ice cream. The adorable storefront is the perfect place to sit and enjoy your special treat while basking in the final days of summer.

4. Merchantville Sweet Shop 

This Merchantville newcomer just had its first successful summer and is excited for many more! At Merchantville Sweet Shop you can find breakfast pastries along with a full ice cream and water ice parlor. Sip on a cup of coffee or try your hand at conquering the “Big Al’s Pig Dinner” sundae. Hot dogs and other snack foods are available at the shop if you believe in dinner before dessert.

5. Brain Freeze Parlor 

Make a stop to this Moorestown old-fashioned ice cream parlor for a delicious trip you’ll be dreaming about for days. Create your own one-of-a-kind sundae with a variety of toppings, or pair your ice cream with a freshly baked cookie for something totally unique. At Brain Freeze you can also pick your soft serve flavor of choice and mix in candies for a cool treat.

6. Nina’s Ice Cream 

Nina’s in New Hope is famous for its authentic Belgium waffle creations. Always made with local, fresh, and natural ingredients, the shop has perfected the art of waffles. Guests can pick from both sweet and savory homemade waffles and top them with tasty treats. Add hand-scooped ice cream or try it in a cone for a guaranteed good choice. Nina’s is now also featuring a food truck for special events, making it even easier to satisfy your cravings!

7. Petrucci’s 

Whether it’s soft pretzels, apple dumplings, or gelati swirl, you can find a little bit of everything at Petrucci’s in Phoenixville. You can get your fill of hand-dipped ice cream, water ice, lattes, and soft serve during their seasonal hours. Come back time and time again for the hospitality and sweet delicacies.

8. La Michoacana

This Kennett Square favorite features homemade ice cream in flavors inspired by the Mexican palate, including avocado, corn, cantaloupe, coconut, and banana. La Michoacana is best known for topping treats with chili and cinnamon powder for a spicy kick.
