New leadership is increasing momentum for Lansdale’s businesses. Many new businesses, restaurants, and retailers are blossoming thanks to Lansdale’s “open for business” attitude.

When the North Pennsylvania Railroad arrived in the 1850s, jobs came with it. At the time, businesses were attracted by Lansdale’s scenery and economic opportunities. Today, these same qualities continue to draw businesses to Lansdale’s downtown.

There are many other factors involved, too. Lansdale’s location and role as a transit hub for the entire region — with access to the Turnpike, 309, and 202 and SEPTA via the Main Street Train Station — bring many customers into the Borough to support its businesses while allowing residents to access opportunities outside the community.

An ongoing streetscape project is enhancing the downtown atmosphere, improving walkabilty, and increasing opportunities for business throughout the district. Other revitalization efforts include discounts for land development and permit fees to encourage long-term investment through Lansdale’s Economic Development Incentive program.

Another reason to look at Lansdale for business is its commercial properties. These range from $4 to $28 per square foot.
