Downtown Merchantville is a center for excitement. Residents have a remarkable number of opportunities for fun, freedom, and fanfare. First Fridays are always a favorite. Galleries, restaurants, and retailers all feature art, music, and movies.

Parks can be found throughout the community and offer an array of athletic fields, walking trails, and playgrounds for the little ones. Come summer, many make their way over to the Woodbine Swim Club. In addition to the pools, the club is complete with picnic benches and basketball, shuffleboard, and volleyball courts. Just outside the community is the Merchantville Country Club. This nine-hole golf course is considered one of the most challenging in the region.

For those seeking other outlets, Merchantville's Wellspring Center for Yoga and Health offers yoga classes, tai chi sessions, and group meditations. The Parsons Center for the Arts is a perennial favorite. It offers classes for children and adults in areas including sewing, drawing, painting, and pottery.

Throughout the year, a number of seasonal celebrations and annual festivals also engage the local community. Some of these many events include the Holiday Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, Town-Wide Yard Sale, and the Merchantville Birthday Celebration.
