The air is warmer, the plants are blooming, and as Earth Day approaches, we feel it is the perfect time to do a little spring cleaning in the Classic Towns. Here are 10 ways you can get outside, celebrate the new season, and spruce up your space and neighborhood.
Participate in a day of service in Glassboro on April 23, 2017 from 12pm to 2pm. This Back to the Boro event encourages students, faculty, and volunteers of the town to get out and lend a hand around the Rowan University community. This special thank you to the citizens of Glassboro allows volunteers to visit the homes of locals to perform needed household tasks.

Honor Earth Day, Downtown Glenside, and Sustainable Cheltenham at the Glenside Arts Festival. Celebrate with emerging artists, food, wine and music all while supporting the local community. Come out on April 22 from 11am to 5pm to explore vendors and crafts from more than 80 artisans and learn more about sustainable initiatives and Earth Day practices.

On April 22 at 9am join together with other locals at the Souderton Community Park for a special clean up honoring Earth Day. Volunteers will rake leaves, pick up trash, and add mulch and flowers to enhance the beauty of the park for upcoming Souderton gatherings. The day will be wrapped up with lunch as a special thank you for volunteering and helping the environment.

Tidy up around the house with a little spring cleaning in the Borough of Oxford. From April 26 through April 29 from 7am to 3pm, you can bring scrap metal, appliances, used oil, yard waste, brush, and electronics to the Borough as an initiative to spruce up your home and the community. Some fees may apply for certain larger donations.

Save the date for April 22 from 4pm to 10pm in Kennett Square for their Spring Mix festival. A variety of bands, food, drinks, and raffles will fill the night as proceeds go to Garage Community and Youth Center as well as Anson B. Nixon Park. The park is a local treasure, offering beautiful trails, picnic areas, tennis, gardening, and summer concerts. Donations are $15 per person with an extra $10 for alcoholic beverages.

The event will have various vendors, exhibits, demonstrations, presentations, hikes around the property, activities, crafts, live animals, and so much more.
