Around the Classic Towns – Affordability

We continue our Around the Classic Towns video blog series with affordability- featuring how our amazing communities offer budget-friendly events and activities during the holiday season. Follow along as we visit Bordentown City, Lansdale, Cheltenham, and Souderton to explore how these towns are spreading holiday cheer without the expensive price tag!

Our day kick-offed in Bordentown City to visit Cake Box by Neelma as the cafe hosted The Central New Jersey Ballet Theatre. The company was putting on a Tea Time with the Sugar Plum Fairy in honor of their Nutcracker production. Complimentary tea was served during this free event and there was a special story time with a ballerina. Tickets for the theatre’s show were also on sale so experiencing the magic of the Nutcracker is easier and less expensive than ever! Guests could also browse at Cake Box by Neelma for a fresh and local holiday treat.

The trip continued to Lansdale as we stopped by TubaChristmas. The Sunday afternoon in Railroad Plaza was filled with the sounds of seasonal music from over sixty of the most talented tuba, sousaphone, and euphonium players in the area. This free event is just one of the many Lansdale Borough helps put on throughout the year and was perfect for all ages!

Next, we visited the Cheltenham Center for the Arts Holiday Sale. The entry was no charge for everyone and provided a great way to purchase local art and gifts for loved ones. The Center nurtures the creative spirit of the community through instruction in the visual arts, exhibitions, theater performances, and concerts.

We finished our spotlight on affordable activities in the Classic Towns with the annual tree lighting in Souderton. The night was a part of Catch the Holiday Spirit in Souderton, a family tradition that includes a special parade, tree lighting, and other festivities that are free to the public. Souderton Telford Main Streets helps host a multitude of other events throughout the year that are both family, and wallet-friendly!

We hope you enjoyed our affordability feature and can find yourself participating in one of the many Classic Towns inexpensive events in 2018!
