Spring is here and the Classic Towns have begun to bloom. We rounded up the best activities that celebrate the season. Here are seven ways you can experience the fresh air and family-friendly activities the towns have to offer.

Multiple towns are highlighting ways to help clean up the community and learn more about nature for the new season. On April 21st, Quakertown hosts their clean up where local businesses, organizations, and volunteers will be partnering to help beautify the Borough Parks. On April 28th, Collingswood has their 10th Annual Collingswood Green Festival, a celebration of spring and all things green.
There’s plenty of delicious events to dig into this season in the Classic Towns. Manayunk is hosting their popular StrEAT Food Festival on April 15th and their Spring Manayunk Restaurant Week from April 16th to the 27th. Head to Media from April 8th to the 13th for their Restaurant Week and West Chester on April 14th for their Local Food Tasting and Member-Owned Meeting, a farm-to-table event featuring local sustainable farmers in the Co-op’s local food program.
Fresh spring produce and carefully crafted goods are abundant in the Classic Towns this time of year. You can visit farmers’ markets that are revealing delicious new offerings for the season. Take a stroll around the various downtowns to browse boutiques and pick up something new for the spring.
The arts and music come alive when the weather gets warmer in the Classic Towns. You can enjoy Art is Life in Roxborough on April 21st, a day of pop-up shops, vendor tables, and fine craftsmanship along Ridge Avenue or for movie buffs, visit the West Chester Film Festival on April 28th. Rhythm and Blues in Haddon Heights on April 21st and the Media Americana Roots Ramble on April 14th are two great ways to listen to fantastic music and explore the town.
The Classic Towns all have deep historic roots that are perfect for exploring in the spring. Historic Germantown offers multiple educational programs at their different well-known locations around town like Awbury Arboretum, The Carriage House at Cliveden, and Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion. Most of the activities are free and are great for guests of all ages!
From biking and hiking, to bird watching and stargazing, everyone can find a unique connection to nature within the Classic Towns. Join friends and neighbors to stare at the stars, contemplate the constellations, and be amazed by astronomy right in your own backyard at the Glassboro Star Party on April 20th. You can also visit one of the many Classic Towns’ parks and trails to immerse yourself in the gorgeous scenery and changing foliage.
